Ogura entered Silverstone firmly in the championship fight and showed that pace from the opening sessions, finishing seventh in FP1 before moving up to sixth in FP2.
That speed translated into a strong Sprint performance. Starting among the front-runners, the Trackhouse MotoGP rider held second from the opening lap and resisted pressure from Fabio Di Giannantonio through the middle stages. Jorge Martin eventually pulled clear at the front, but Ogura secured second to limit the championship deficit to three points on Saturday.
Sunday proved far more difficult. Ogura was immediately caught in the early battle between Martin and Marco Bezzecchi, dropping to seventh through the opening laps before his race ended on Lap 9 at Turn 16.
The crash was Ogura's first of the 2026 season and left him without points from the Grand Prix. With Martin extending his championship advantage, Ogura now sits 31 points behind the leader with ten rounds remaining.
Moto3
Veda Ega Pratama's Silverstone weekend followed a steadier trajectory. The Honda Team Asia rider placed sixth in FP1 before dropping to 16th in FP2 and eventually qualifying 16th in Q2.
From there, Pratama produced a controlled race to climb into ninth at the chequered flag and secure another points finish. His 11th-fastest lap of the race also reflected the consistent pace he maintained across the distance.
For Pratama, the result added another points haul as the Moto3 season moved into its second half, while Ogura left Silverstone with the reminder that a strong Sprint result can quickly disappear on Sunday.
