Round 19 of the season took place at Petronas Sepang International Circuit from 30 October to 1 November, with two rounds remaining.
In the Premiere Class, Ogura qualified fourth after Alex Marquez took pole position ahead of Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta. The Sprint unfolded in mixed wet and dry conditions, with Ogura moving into the lead after Alex Marquez crashed on lap three. Acosta eventually took victory, with Marc Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi passing Ogura in the closing laps. The Japanese rider finished fourth.
Ogura repeated that result in Sunday's race. Marc Marquez took the holeshot and went on to win by 4.1 seconds, securing his seventh victory of the season and the 80th of his career. Acosta finished second after passing Alex Marquez on lap ten, while the pole-sitter completed the podium. Ogura remained in contention for the lower podium positions throughout the race and passed Bezzecchi to secure fourth, finishing just 0.8 seconds behind Alex Marquez. The result completed a double fourth-place finish across the Sprint and Grand Prix.
Moto3 provided the weekend's strongest result for Asian riders. Hakim Danish qualified third, becoming the first Malaysian rider since 2012 to secure a front-row start in the class. Starting eighth, Veda Pratama worked his way into the leading group and battled for position through the final laps. The Indonesian eventually secured second behind Maximo Quiles, who converted pole position into his 11th victory of the season and first as World Champion. Alvaro Carpe completed the podium.
Danish also remained in contention for a podium finish in front of his home crowd. He ran second on Lap 2 and stayed among the leading group until the final lap. After moving ahead of Carpe at Turn 11, the Malaysian was passed again at Turn 14. A final attempt at the last corner ran wide, leaving him fourth at the finish.
In Moto2, David Alonso claimed his second victory of the 2026 season. Starting fourth, the Colombian took the lead from Aspar teammate Daniel Holgado at Turn 4 on lap six. Despite a late challenge from Holgado following a rear-end moment at Turn 14, Alonso held on to secure an Aspar one-two. Angel Piqueras finished third to claim his maiden Moto2 podium.
With Qatar and Valencia still to come, Pratama's runner-up finish and Danish's home front row marked the standout Asian results in Malaysia. Ogura's two fourth-place finishes also kept him firmly in the fight near the front of the Premiere Class, while Marc Marquez heads to Qatar with a 44-point championship lead and his first opportunity to clinch the title
