Ai Ogura steadily built momentum throughout the Mugello weekend. The Japanese rider finished third in Q1 to advance into the pole position shootout, ultimately securing 13th on the grid for both races.
The Sprint Race produced a strong recovery drive, with Ogura climbing into eighth place to collect points on Saturday. Sunday's Grand Prix saw an even more impressive performance as he worked his way through the field and joined the battle for the podium in the closing stages.
After a race-long fight at the front of the chasing pack, Ogura crossed the line fourth, missing out on third place by just 0.034 seconds. Despite falling agonisingly short of a second MotoGP podium, the result marked one of his strongest performances to date and underlined his growing competitiveness against the championship's established names.
Moto3
Hakim Danish delivered another standout weekend in the Moto3 category. The Malaysian rider progressed through qualifying with second place in both Q1 and Q2 before securing second on the starting grid.
Danish converted that pace into a maiden podium finish on race day, taking third after remaining in contention throughout the lead group battle. The result adds another strong points haul to his campaign and reinforces his position among the category's consistent front-runners.
Fellow Asian rider Veda Pratama qualified 13th and produced a solid recovery in the race, finishing eighth to secure a valuable top-10 result at one of the championship's most demanding circuits.
Mugello ultimately delivered encouraging results across both classes. Ogura came within a few hundredths of a second of another breakthrough MotoGP podium, Danish stepped onto the Moto3 podium for the first time, and Pratama continued his run of points-scoring performances as the championship heads toward its next round.
