Ogura Extends Title Charge with Sachsenring Podium as Furusato and Yamanaka Add Top-10 Finishes

Fresh from his maiden MotoGP victory at Assen, Ai Ogura arrived at the Sachsenring carrying momentum, even if Friday began quietly. The Trackhouse rider finished 17th in FP1 before climbing to seventh in FP2, setting himself up for Q2. A late improvement briefly elevated Ogura to third before Marc Márquez's record lap shuffled him back to fifth on the grid.

Saturday's Sprint showcased Ogura's outright pace. He recorded the fastest lap of the race while running with the leading group, eventually finishing fourth after a measured performance.

Sunday brought an even stronger result. Ogura launched from the second row to move into third on the opening lap before briefly conceding the position. Carefully managing his front tyre after similar issues in the Sprint, he remained firmly in contention throughout the Grand Prix and crossed the line second behind Márquez to secure his fourth podium of the season.

The result keeps Ogura second in the championship standings heading into the summer break, with just 24 points separating the top five riders.

Moto2

Furusato Taiyo steadily improved throughout the weekend after opening Friday down in 21st. A jump to sixth in FP2 carried the Japanese rider into qualifying, where he secured seventh on the grid with a 1:21.852. He converted that into one of his strongest race results of the season, finishing fifth while also setting the 10th fastest lap of the Grand Prix.

Moto3

Ryusei Yamanaka produced another consistent weekend in the lightweight class. The Japanese rider opened with fifth in FP1 before ending Friday with a P9 in FP2. He qualified ninth before bringing home another points finish with ninth place in the race, adding the 12th fastest lap of the Grand Prix to round out a productive weekend.

The Sachsenring marked another important weekend for Japan across all three categories. Ogura strengthened his position in the MotoGP title fight with another podium, Furusato continued his upward trajectory in Moto2, and Yamanaka maintained his run of points as the paddock heads into the summer break.
