Nakamura-Berta delivered one of the standout performances of the round. The Japanese driver initially topped the Group A timesheets in Qualifying 1 before being disqualified for a parc fermé infringement, forcing him to start Race 1 from the back of the grid. The setback translated into a difficult opening race, where he recovered to finish 23rd.
The response in the remainder of the weekend, however, was immediate. Nakamura-Berta returned in Qualifying 2 to secure Group A pole position before converting the pace into a second-place finish in Race 2, completing one of the strongest recovery stories of the Zandvoort weekend and re-establishing himself among the frontrunners in the championship fight.
Zhenrui Chi delivered another consistently competitive round. After qualifying fourth in Group B for Race 1 and third in Group B for Race 2, Chi secured eighth and fifth-place finishes across the two races. The results continued a solid start to the season for the Chinese driver, who remained firmly inside the points across both encounters.
Dion Gowda also showed strong one-lap pace throughout qualifying, securing third in Group A for the opening session before adding fifth in Group A for Race 2 qualifying. The Indian driver converted both into points-scoring finishes with ninth in Race 1 and tenth in Race 2, maintaining another steady weekend in the midfield battle.
Round 2 at Zandvoort ultimately highlighted both the competitiveness and volatility of the FRECA grid. Nakamura-Berta’s recovery from disqualification to podium finish became the defining storyline of the weekend, while Chi and Gowda continued to build consistent early-season momentum through another pair of solid points finishes.
