Mazzali Sweeps Mini Max as Chong and Toro Lee Complete ROK Cup Asia Wins at LYL

LYL International Circuit hosted a joint round for ROK Cup Asia (Round 6) and ROK Cup Malaysia (Round 3), with the Mini Max, Junior Max, and Senior & Expert Max categories producing three distinct stories across qualifying, heats, Super Heats, and the finals.

In Mini Max, William Mazzali turned a second-place qualifying result into a complete sweep of the races. Kenzie Erizananda started from pole and finished second in both Heat 1 and Heat 2, while Mazzali took both wins. Mazzali then added the Super Heat victory, with Saif Zulqarnayn second and Dastan Sugiharto third after Erizananda retired and Xavier Car and Ahmad Johan were disqualified.

Erizananda recovered to finish second in the final, with Xavier Car completing the podium. Mazzali's run from qualifying runner-up to four consecutive race wins made him the clear benchmark of the Mini Max field.

Junior Max was even more straightforward at the front. Chong Ka Hei took pole and then won every session that followed, completing a clean sweep across both heats, the Super Heat, and the final. James Hunter and Aakil Rungta traded the remaining podium positions through the heats, with Rungta receiving a 10-second penalty in Heat 1 for causing a collision. Rungta ultimately secured second in the final, with Hunter third. 

Senior & Expert Max saw Toro Lee Wei Zhen establish control early, taking pole and winning both qualifying heats ahead of Conrad Garrow and Eshton Yong Shun Wei.

Garrow briefly took the lead in the Super Heat after Toro Lee was handed a 10-second penalty for a start procedure infringement. Garrow won the session ahead of Yong and Toro, but Toro recovered in the final to take the category victory. Yong finished second, while William Xiao completed the podium.

Across the three categories, the weekend produced two clean sweeps and one comeback from a penalty. Mazzali dominated Mini Max after starting second in qualifying, Chong went unbeaten from pole in Junior Max, and Toro recovered from his Super Heat penalty to reclaim the top step in the Senior & Expert Max final.
