GT3
Dennis Marschall and Zhang Huilin converted pole into victory in Race 1, taking Apex Predator Racing's Ferrari 296 GT3 to the top step after setting the fastest time in Qualifying 1. Climax Racing and ELEGANT Racing Team completed the podium.
The race was halted following a multi-car collision that left FIST Team AAI driver Ollie Millroy trapped inside his burning car. Dutch driver Loek Hartog stopped after the incident, retrieved an extinguisher and helped pull Millroy from the vehicle.
The aftermath extended beyond the race itself. FIST Team AAI and several drivers, including Kerong Li, announced their permanent withdrawal from the championship, citing concerns over marshal response and race safety. The China GT organizing committee subsequently issued an official apology and opened an investigation into the incident.
Race 2 went to Absolute Racing's Akash Nandy and Sandy Stuvik in the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2. Winhere Origine Motorsport and Team KRC followed on the podium after a race reshaped by post-race penalties for pitstop infringements, collisions, and false starts.
Sunday also brought a separate incident involving Wang Yibo, who had won his class alongside Mao Junhao on Saturday. Wang climbed from 17th to third in class before contact at Turn 11 forced his retirement. He was confirmed safe and uninjured.
GTC/GTS
Jiang Nan and Feng Shaolun took the overall GTC/GTS victory in Race 1, leading the Harmony Racing Ferrari 296 Challenge to the top step and securing the GTC AM class win. CTF Racing finished second, while 610 Racing completed the overall podium and also took the 992 PA class victory alongside further podium results across its other entries.
With the racing overshadowed by Saturday's fire and the subsequent safety investigation, China GT now heads into the remainder of the season with questions over marshal response and safety procedures still to be addressed.
