Dion Gowda has secured the Rookie Championship title in the 2025 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA), marking a milestone debut season with Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR). Gowda sealed the title with one race remaining in the season - a commanding performance that underlines his consistency and adaptability in one of Europe’s most competitive junior single-seater grids.

The 17-year-old accumulated 38 points, a remarkable 36 points ahead of fellow rookies Ean Eyckmans (2 points) and Reno Francot (1 point). The trio were the only rookies to score in the championship, emphasizing the high level of competition throughout the 2025 season.

Gowda’s campaign featured standout drives at Hockenheim and Spa-Francorchamps, where he achieved his best race finishes of P5 in both events. His strong performances also placed him 12th in the overall championship standings, which were topped by British driver Freddie Slater.

Competing under the Dutch outfit Van Amersfoort Racing, Gowda’s debut season in FRECA has been a significant step in his development through the European racing ladder. FRECA, known for bridging the gap between Formula 4 and FIA Formula 3, has long been regarded as one of the most competitive proving grounds for emerging talent.
