For most 17-year-olds in Bangalore, the focus is on board exams and college applications. For Abhay Mohan, the classroom is often a racetrack and the primary subject is physics in motion. While his peers navigate the traditional academic path, Mohan is navigating the apexes of India’s premier racing circuits, building a career that is already marked by uncommon dominance.

His journey began, as it does for many, in the loud and visceral world of karting. Yet, his progression was anything but typical. By 2022, he had secured the Junior National Karting Championship, a milestone that often signals a promising talent. For Mohan, it was a closing chapter. That same year, he made the decision to transition to single-seater cars, a move that required a fundamental shift in his life. To accommodate the demanding schedule of a professional athlete, he enrolled in the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), committing to a path of homeschooling that would allow him to dedicate himself entirely to motorsport.

The decision paid immediate dividends. In his maiden single-seater season in the MRF Formula 1600 National Championship, Mohan didn't just compete; he redefined what a rookie season could look like. He won 11 of the 12 races, including a string of 10 consecutive victories. The staggering statistics seem to be a byproduct of his methodical approach rather than the end goal itself. His focus has consistently been on the process: understanding the car's mechanics, collaborating closely with his engineers, and executing cleanly on the track. The wins, it appears, are a natural consequence of mastering those details.

Now, Mohan competes in the Indian F4 Championship. The move is another calculated step in a career that has been defined by them. As he continues to hone his craft, his focus remains clear: build on the foundation laid in karting and Formula 1600 and prepare for the next logical step into higher, more competitive formula racing series in 2025 and beyond. In a sport often defined by raw emotion and adrenaline, Abhay Mohan is proving that the fastest path forward is one paved with discipline, focus, and quiet determination.
