The Toyota #8 car, driven by Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryō Hirakawa, started from second on the grid and executed a clean race to take overall and class victory. Their result marked a decisive start to the campaign, translating front-row qualifying into maximum points at the season opener.
The Toyota sister Car #7, driven by Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries, qualified sixth and climbed into contention across the race distance, securing third overall and third in class. The combined result places Toyota firmly at the head of the championship standings after Round 1.
Further down the Hypercar order, Phil Hanson, Robert Kubica, and Yifei Ye in the AF Corse Car #89 entry qualified eighth and completed the race in tenth, collecting points but lacking the pace to challenge the leading group.
In LMGT3, Antares Au, Tom Fleming, and Marvin Kirchhöfer in the Garage 59 Car #10 secured pole position in class with a strong qualifying performance, but their race unraveled, dropping them to seventeenth in class and thirtieth overall by the flag. In contrast, Augusto Farfus, Sean Gelael, and Darren Leung in the Team WRT Car #32 delivered a consistent run from fifth on the grid to finish fifth in class and twenty-first overall, securing a stable points result to open their season.
Round 1 at Imola establishes Toyota as the early benchmark in Hypercar, with Car #8 leading the standings and Car #7 reinforcing the team’s position with a second podium finish. In LMGT3, consistency proved critical, with clean execution separating points finishers from those unable to convert qualifying pace into race results.
