The Greater Bay Area GT Cup (GT4) at the Macau Grand Prix produced a race shaped by early moves and repeated safety car interventions, with Lu Wenlong emerging as the winner after controlling the pace from the opening lap to the final neutralised finish.

Starting from third, Lu made the defining move of the race even before the field reached Lisboa. He passed polesitter Han Lichao and veteran Darryl O’Young through Mandarin Bend, taking the lead just as the first safety car was deployed for incidents at Turn 1 and on the Mandarin Straight.

When racing resumed on lap four, Lu immediately created a small margin while O’Young and Han battled behind him. The fight did not last long. O’Young clipped the barrier at San Francisco Bend, an incident that also collected Moritz Berrenberg and triggered a second safety car period.

The restart set up a short sprint to the end. Lu again managed the field, while Han settled into second and TEAM PEGASUS driver Liu Kai Shun moved into third after climbing steadily from tenth on the grid. Another incident at R Bend brought out the third safety car and the race ultimately finished under neutral conditions, locking the order in place.

Local driver Leong Ian Veng finished fourth for SON VENG Racing Team, with Taiwan’s Kao Tzu Lung completing the top five for LEVEL Motorsports.

For Lu, the decisive overtake at Mandarin proved to be the key moment. He noted after the race that the pace was there all weekend but that Macau’s nature demands an early opportunity, and taking the lead immediately set the tone for the rest of the run.
