British-Korean driver Jack Aitken will make his full-time FIA World Endurance Championship debut in 2026, joining Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA in the #38 V-Series.R alongside Earl Bamber and Sébastien Bourdais.
Aitken’s arrival marks a new chapter for JOTA after Jenson Button’s retirement from professional racing at the end of the 2025 season. The move also strengthens Cadillac’s factory driver lineup as the manufacturer looks to build on a season of steady progress and a race win at Interlagos.
Aitken joins JOTA following two strong years in IMSA with Action Express Racing, where he won the 2025 Petit Le Mans and 12 Hours of Sebring, and finished runner-up in both the IMSA Drivers’ Championship and the Michelin Endurance Cup. His blend of precision and racecraft has made him one of endurance racing’s most consistent performers.
JOTA Sport founder David Clark called Aitken’s signing a “natural fit,” praising his pace, composure, and ability to work within a team. “Six individual stars won’t win endurance races,” Clark said. “Six drivers who work as one can. Everything we’ve seen from Jack shows he embodies that spirit.”
For Aitken, the move is as much about growth as it is about opportunity. “I’ve never raced in WEC or with JOTA before, though we’ve come close a few times. I’ve learned a lot from IMSA and hope to bring that to the team,” he said. “Cadillac and JOTA have fantastic people and real momentum. I can’t wait to get started.”
The signing completes JOTA’s two-car lineup for 2026, with Alex Lynn, Norman Nato, and Will Stevens returning in the #12 entry. Both crews will continue to share development data across WEC and IMSA, as Cadillac builds a more unified global program.
Aitken will continue to race in IMSA with Action Express Racing next year and will miss the WEC’s 6 Hours of Imola, which clashes with IMSA’s Long Beach round.
Cadillac closed 2025 fourth in the Hypercar Manufacturers’ standings, with JOTA scoring the marque’s first-ever WEC victory in Brazil and multiple front-row starts throughout the year. Aitken’s arrival signals Cadillac’s intent to continue that upward curve — and possibly challenge for the title in 2026.
